Buffalo, N.Y. – The Martin Group (TMG), Buffalo’s leading full-service advertising, branding and public relations firm, has announced plans to purchase the historic 620 Main Street building, located in the City of Buffalo’s Theater District.

TMG is currently headquartered at 477 Main Street, a building purchased in 2008 and subsequently renovated by Tod Martin, TMG’s president and founder. The company has occupied the 477 Main Street location for over two years and has since experienced rapid growth, resulting in the need to lease additional space in two nearby office buildings. Between the three current locations, TMG occupies approximately 9,000 square-feet of operational space.

“As we quickly outgrew our current space and the search began for a new office location, there was no doubt in my mind we would keep the agency headquartered in downtown Buffalo,” said Martin. “This is an exciting time in the redevelopment of our city, and it makes sense that we remain on Main Street at the forefront of Buffalo’s resurging urban core. In our industry, an innovative, collaborative workspace is essential. To foster the type of creative work environment we believe in, all of our practice areas should be under one roof.”

Martin is expected to close on the building at 620 Main Street within the next 45-60 days. Following the purchase, extensive interior renovations will take place. An architect has not yet been identified. TMG plans to take occupancy by the end of 2016. At that time, Martin plans to lease out the company’s current building at 477 Main Street.

The 620 Main Street building is an 18,000 square-foot space with three floors and a functional sub-level. It was also once home to former venerable Buffalo-based advertising agency, Levy, King & White.

“When I started my career in Buffalo, Levy, King & White was the premiere agency in town, and I always admired their building and what it stood for being in the heart of the City,” said Martin. “To our team here at The Martin Group, this is going to be a pretty symbolic move we can take great pride in.”

TMG has been a consistent recipient of Buffalo Business First’s Fast Track Award and has also been recognized as one of WNY’s Top Private Companies. Within the past 18 months, TMG acquired the well-known integrated marketing communications agency Travers Collins & Company, as well as the upstart public relations consultancy AMDG Public Affairs, which resulted in the formation of a new affiliate – Martin Davison Public Relations. The Martin Group continually receives industry awards and accolades for its work across various creative, digital, media and public relations practice areas. The agency has a combined 55 employees between its Buffalo and Rochester offices.
