10 Years at The Martin Group: Chase Martin

10 Years at The Martin Group: Chase Martin – The Martin Group

Congratulations on 10 years with The Martin Group. What has been your favorite part about working here?

Chase Martin: The people. I’ve gotten to work with so many amazing individuals throughout my years here and have made many good friends along the way.

How has your typical workday changed over the past decade?

CM: My workday has evolved a lot over the years as I’ve learned many different areas of our business. This makes each day exciting trying to learn new skills and continue honing old ones.

What’s the biggest challenge in your position, and how do you handle these challenges on a weekly basis?

CM: There are a lot of moving parts in the New Business world, but keeping everything straight—while making sure we are putting our best effort forward—is the most important task.

Do you have a client project or two that made a memorable impression on you? If so, what were they, and why were they so special?

CM: Working the New Era production shoot and getting to meet some of the Buffalo Bills players was a very cool experience. Any time I get to be out of the office and working on projects like that is always exciting.

Is there an industry development you’re particularly excited about? If so, what is it, and why does it interest you?

CM: I don’t know that this is industry-specific, but I am excited to see the role artificial intelligence (AI) can take moving forward. I think there are great opportunities to take advantage of this technology as it advances.

You’ve had a few days off in your 10 years here. What would your ideal day off look like, wake up to bedtime?

CM: Wake up without an alarm, have a nice homemade breakfast, and play some midday squash. Have a nice lunch (preferably outside), get in a good walk with the dogs, meet up with friends for dinner and drinks—and not worry about going to bed too early.

Finally, if you met someone who hoped to find success in a position like yours, what’s the one piece of critical advice you’d offer to them?

CM: Work on your networking skills. Networking is one of the most effective ways to make sure people think of you when they are looking for help in their own business.
