Challenge
As one of Buffalo, NY’s premier healthcare facilities—and the region’s only Level 1 Trauma Care Center—Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) looked to ensure the online patient experience of their website provided visibility, transparency, and a clear path to learn about their key services. With an understanding that structural, design, and strategic changes would be necessary, ECMC trusted their long-time marketing partner, The Martin Group, to assess the project and provide a comprehensive plan to achieve their goals.
Solution
In an effort to standardize and simplify content across the site, our team performed a complete redesign of the existing website. The process included migrating over 1,500 pages of content to the new site and integrating it with their online provider portal, appointment booking, and online chat systems. Particular attention was given to the mobile experience, optimizing and prioritizing content most relevant to visitors accessing the site via their phones. This mobile-first approach ensured that patients could easily find the information they needed, regardless of the device they were using.
Results
Built on the versatile WordPress platform to leverage the new page builder experience and optimized templates, the redesigned look and feel included key aspects of the ECMC brand while also introducing new design elements to provide a modernized online experience. Overall, the project successfully transformed ECMC’s online presence, significantly improving the patient experience and accessibility of their services.
