MDPR continues to implement a public relations campaign for 43North, the world’s largest business idea competition, to attract high quality startups to Buffalo.
In 2015, 43North saw more than 11,000 registrants and 3,000 qualified submissions. Public relations efforts have generated 350+ media hits each year. 43North is supported by Governor Andrew Cuomo via the “Buffalo Billion” initiative.
Media hits have included prominent outlets like the Toronto Star, Huffington Post, TechRepublic, The Times of Israel, Globe and Mail, Philadelphia Business Journal, Associated Press, and others. Social media engagement included tweets and posts from influencers like AOL-founder Steve Case (600K+ followers). This project has also received commendations for the extensive minority and women business enterprise (M/WBE) outreach and engagement effort planned and spearheaded by MDPR, as recognized by Buffalo Business First.
