Sonwil Distribution Recognized by Food Logistics Magazine as 2017 “Top Third Party Logistics (3PL) and Cold Storage Provider”

August 24, 2017

Company earns national recognition for fourth straight year

BUFFALO, NY – Today Sonwil Distribution Center—a leading North American logistics solutions provider—announced that it has been named a Food Logistics magazine ‘Top Third Party Logistics (3PL) and Cold Storage Provider’ for the fourth consecutive year.

“As a third-generation, family-owned business, we continuously work to bring innovative logistics solutions to our customers,” said Peter Wilson, president and CEO of Sonwil Distribution Center. “It is an honor to be recognized for our contributions to the global food and beverage supply chain for what is now four years running. Our continued commitment to operational investment is matched only by an unwavering focus on best in class reliability and service.”

Food Logistics is the only publication exclusively dedicated to covering the movement of product through the global food supply chain. The ‘Top 3PL & Cold Storage Providers’ list serves as a resource guide of third party logistics and cold storage providers whose products and services are critical for companies in the global food and beverage supply chain. The 2017 companies will be included in the August 2017 print issue of Food Logistics and are currently listed online.

Sonwil’s Food Logistics recognition follows the company’s expansion into the Southwestern U.S. market through the opening of a facility in Arlington, TX in 2016. In that same year, Sonwil affiliate Innovative Transportation Services launched cross border transportation services to support trade between the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, Sonwil affiliate Transportation and Consolidation Services, Inc. announced a partnership with McLeod Software, to offer Sonwil customers increased shipment monitoring efficiency through the use of real-time, digital tracking services.

“The global food supply chain is faced with unprecedented challenges, from consolidation and M&A in the grocery sector to the impact of the Food Safety Modernization Act,” said Lara Sowinski, editorial director, Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “Those that earn a spot on the Top 3PL & Cold Storage Providers list are critical to supporting the agricultural community, importers/exporters, food manufacturers, grocery retailers, foodservice distributors and others that depend on them to support the growing complexities of the global food supply chain.”
