10 Years at The Martin Group: Kendra Breen

May 20, 2025

Congratulations on five years with The Martin Group. What has been your favorite part about working here?

Thank you! Honestly, the best part has been the people. I’ve had the privilege of working with incredibly talented, driven, and supportive teammates. There’s a strong sense of collaboration and shared purpose here, and that makes even the most challenging projects enjoyable.

Plus, there’s never a shortage of killer GIFs.

How has your typical workday changed over the past five years?

A lot more projects, more teammates, and more successes!

What’s the biggest challenge in your position, and how do you handle these challenges on a weekly basis?

The biggest challenge is often balancing competing priorities—tight timelines and evolving client needs. I’ve found that clear communication, strong organization, and staying flexible are essential. Every week requires a mix of planning ahead and adjusting on the fly, and having a team that communicates well makes a huge difference.

Do you have a client project or two that made a memorable impression on you? If so, what were they, and why were they so special?

Absolutely. One project that stands out is when we helped our client enter a completely new market. It was a complex launch with a lot of moving parts, but the collaboration between our internal teams and the client was seamless. It reminded me how powerful well-executed strategy and teamwork can be. It was a proud moment to see the results exceed expectations.

Is there an industry development you’re particularly excited about? If so, what is it, and why does it interest you?

I’m really interested in how AI is evolving—who isn’t? Especially in terms of personalization and data analysis. When used thoughtfully, it has the potential to enhance our creativity and efficiency, hopefully without replacing the human insight that drives truly meaningful work. I’m excited to see how it continues to develop.

You’ve had a few days off in your five years here. What would your ideal day off look like, wake up to bedtime?

My ideal day off would be a mix of rest and recharge—sleeping in a bit, having coffee while journaling, and spending time outdoors on a hike. A nice dinner with friends or family, a good book, and a nighttime soak in the hot tub. Simple, but perfect.

Finally, if you met someone who hoped to find success in a position like yours, what’s the one piece of critical advice you’d offer to them?

Learn to love change, be adaptable, and always be willing to listen. This role is about relationships as much as it is about results. Understand your clients, support your team, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Growth comes from staying engaged, learning constantly—and from knowing that no two days will ever be quite the same.
