Senior Art Director

Full-Time Position (Buffalo, Rochester or Albany office)

You will be responsible for coordinating with the Creative Director, account services, and other internal resources to develop and execute creative solutions ranging from complex campaign initiatives to small, individual requests. As a Senior Art Director, you will actively participate in client meetings and work with the Executive Team to implement marketing materials for the agency

Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Works with Creative Director, creative partners, and Account teams to develop concepts for client programs, campaigns and other creative assignments 
  • Develops and executes creative solutions ranging from complex campaign initiatives to small, individual requests 
  • Complies to quality standards for the team as set forth by the department 
  • Supervises execution of assigned creative product when appropriate 
  • Maintains consistent communication with Creative Director, Creative Supervisor, creative and project partners, involving top Agency management in individual client business when appropriate 
  • Builds relationships at the appropriate client/vendor level 
  • Provide accurate time and cost estimates for each deliverable 
  • Actively participates in client meetings and/or phone calls to communicate ideas and obtain approval on objectives 
  • Contributes hands-on to the project from concept through design and execution, effectively managing daily workload, projects, and deadlines 
  • Revises creative according to client changes 
  • Works with the Executive Team to implement marketing materials for the agency and assists with the creation and assembly of new business materials. 
  • Identifies internal and external talent, actively creating a pipeline of resources 
  • Coaches and develops team members when appropriate 
  • Builds relationships with outside vendors 
  • Acquires quotes from videographers, printers, photographers, and fabricators 
  • Facilitates and promotes corporate initiatives and values 

Secondary Responsibilities: 

  • Assists other members of Creative Team with the completion of their assignments as needed 
  • Maintains awareness of local market news and advertising industry happenings and impacts, as well as opportunities 
  • Creates mechanical working files when appropriate 
  • Exemplary level of design and visual communication skills 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Ability to utilize creative problem solving and demonstrate proactive thinking 
  • Effectively manage daily workload, projects, and deadlines 
  • Effective presentation skills with the ability to articulate and persuasively sell creative concepts within the agency and directly to clients 
  • Communicates effectively in person, via email, and via the telephone with both the client and the agency’s creative team on specific projects 
  • Superior knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and brands simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail 
  • Collaborates effectively internally and cross departmentally to reach Agency objectives 
  • Ability to work well in both independent and highly collaborative settings 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Visual Communications or equivalent work experience in a related field 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a creative field 

Salary Range: $60-80K
